Ramaphosa to address the nation about chemicals found in food

PARLIAMENT – President Cyril Ramaphosa has finally bowed to the pressure to give government’s response on the rise in cases of chemical poisoning found in food.
Ramaphosa is set the address the nation on Friday evening.

At least 12 children have died in the past few weeks, allegedly after they consumed contaminated snacks bought from spaza shops.
6 of the children were from Naledi in Soweto.
This week, more than 50 pupils from Lundanda Primary School in Mpumalanga were rushed to hospital after they complained of their bodies being itchy.
Whether or not the president will heed the call to declare a state of emergency remains to be seen.
